Accessibility Statement
Effective date: June 22, 2026 · Last updated: June 22, 2026
Our Commitment
EverLetter is committed to ensuring that our website and platform are accessible to all people, including those with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We believe every family — regardless of ability — deserves equal access to the tools that preserve their stories and love across time.
We are actively working to make EverLetter conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and represent the standard referenced by courts and regulators under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III.
Technical Approach
EverLetter relies on the following technologies to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA:
- HTML5 with semantic landmark elements
- WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes
- CSS for visual presentation, separate from structure
- JavaScript for enhanced functionality with keyboard fallbacks
We test our platform using automated scanning tools (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) and manual review with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader testing.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, we are aware of the following area currently under improvement:
- Video caption timing: Video capsules currently include a caption track derived from the AI-generated transcript. Because the transcript does not contain word-level timestamps, captions display as a single block rather than synchronized word-by-word text. We are working to introduce fully synchronized captions as our transcription pipeline is upgraded to provide timing data. A full text transcript is always available beneath the video player as an accessible alternative (WCAG 1.2.3).
- Third-party content: Some embedded third-party widgets (payment processing, video recording) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We are evaluating accessible alternatives.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier not listed here, please contact us so we can address it promptly.
Assistive Technologies We Support
EverLetter is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- High-contrast and dark mode display settings
- Voice control software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control on iOS/macOS)
- Switch access devices
